Gomukh is the source of River Ganga, considered the holiest river in India. The source of the river is a glacier, depicted here. It is shaped like the snout of a cow - hence the name. We traveled to this heavenly location a few years back.
This is a reproduction of a Ravi Varma painting - a visibly upset Damayanti talking to a Hamsam (swan?) who plays the messenger bringing news from her estranged husband Nala. I did this reproduction on fabric, some 60 of them for a dress designer in Bangalore.
